The Point Cook Town Centre, now completed, is a large shopping centre, which contains office space and childcare facilities.
CFMEU organiser Frank O'Grady describes the three-level development situated on the Point Cook Boardwalk Boulevarde, as 'an example of infrastructure keeping pace with the needs of a new community.'
The $80 million complex is in the centre of new housing and will serve the needs of a rapidly growing population in the south-western corridor of Melbourne. Dal Considine is the CFMEU job delegate and OH&S representative at the shopping centre.
With Salta constructions as the main contractor, earthworks at the Point Cook Town Centre were undertaken by Fortunato Group Constructions. Other contractors were Conrock (precasting), Trojan (steel), Baron Forge (landscape paving) Ark and Expo-Conte (Plastering).
At peak, the workforce reached 260 employees.
